The Pakistan Cricket Board is opening an official internal probe into player discipline after a rocky few weeks on the England Test tour. While board statements didn't spell out individual names, the review follows widespread reporting tied to senior players Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq.

Amir Mir, PCB’s Director of Media, confirmed Monday that the investigation will move forward under standard board regulations, adding that everyone named will get a fair shot to present their side.

The decision to launch an inquiry comes right after management made the unusual call to send seven players home midway through the tour. Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, opener Imam-ul-Haq, and T20 skipper Salman Ali Agha were among those dropped, alongside red-ball head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Rumors soon spread across social media claiming team security officers in London had temporarily impounded several players' phones to inspect messages. The PCB hasn't confirmed those details and warned fans against taking online speculation as fact while the internal probe is still active.

The sudden player cuts sparked plenty of debate among past national figures. Former head coach Jason Gillespie publicly called out selector Aaqib Javed, telling him to "look in the mirror" over the rapid sequence of team sackings.
